1: Spider-Man

(Peter Parker)

The web-swinging, wall-crawling amazing Spider-Man is hands down, my all-time favorite superhero! This was the character that got me into comics in the first place. Having loved SPIDER-MAN 2 as a kid, I began reading the comics that the character was based on, and look where it has gotten me now! Even though I have since encountered many superheroes with unique and different characterizations since then, Spidey has always been, and will continue to be the most relatable and compelling to me. He is the superhero that every teen could relate to, as he was bitten by a radioactive spider when he was still in high school, and frequently had to balance his superhero duties with his normal life. It was this constant struggle of finding the right ground between the mask and the man that made his character so compelling and relatable, as outside of him swinging across New York City, Peter Parker was always faced with real life situations. He had to worry about taking care of his Aunt May and helping her pay her bills, getting his way through high school and college, fiding time to spend with his girlfriends, and later helping support his wife when he married Mary Jane (at least until the monster known as Joe Quesada undid their marriage in the awful ONE MORE DAY storyline because he believed that kids couldn't relate to a married Spider-Man! BULLCRAP!!! I LOVED THEIR MARRIAGE AS A KID, AND THOGUHT IT EVOLVED SPIDEY'S CHARACTER SIGNIFICANTLY! HOW DARE YOU SELFISHLY RUIN IT FOR THE FANS WHO LOVE IT! I HATE ONE MORE DAY!!! I HATE IT! I HATE IT! I.... (TV Brodcast signal interupts...))

Sorry about the rant guys, I just really hate ONE MORE DAY, as I can't look at my favorite character anymore without thinking about that cursed abomination! Despite that, I still love Spider-Man, and will continue to read his adventures until the day I die. He is the most relatable superhero you can find, and the cornerstone of his existance, "with great power comes great responsibilty," will continue to inspire the future of him and all individuals with the power to do right!
