22: Cyclops
(Scott Summers)
As a diehard fan of the X-Men, I can safely say that Cyclops has always been one of the most enduring members of the team. I know that a lot of people consider him their favorite X-Man (some even more than Wolverie), but I put him lower on the list as while he is a good character, he does have the tendency to be a jerk and a whiner sometimes. When has there been an era when he doesn't lash out at a team member for screwing something up, or him brooding or whining over the multiple times that Jean Grey has died? Gets a little old sometimes doesn't it? Despite his flaws as a character however. Scott Summers is still a likeable member of the team, and a great leader to boot. There's a reason as to why Professor X made him the X-Men's field leader. Cyclops naturally knows the best course of action to take when combating evil mutants, carefuly analyzing a problem that the team is confronted with and finding a solution for it. He's also very protective of those he cares about, and will never put his teamates in any situation that could potentially risk in them being killed. He's the kind of leader that you may not always agree with, but is one that you would trust your life with.
