Ultimate Spidey Returns as the Sensational Miles Morales!!!

Ranking: 5 stars

I was deeply moved by "The Death of Spider-Man" story and I heard that Spider-Man was going to be replaced by an African American kid named Miles Morales. I wanted to see how different this new Spider-Man would be so I decided to check him out, and he did not disappoint me at all!!!

The story starts an 11 months before Peter Parker's death, when Norman Osborn was trying to recreate the OZ spider that bit Peter. Like the first one, the 42nd test spider escaped, but this time it slipped into the bag of Miles' uncle, the Prowler, who was robbing the Oscorp labs, 11 months after the labs were abandoned, and the spider escaped from it's box. Miles then visits his uncle after he gets accepted into a charter middle school, and the spider unexpectedly bites Miles while he is on the couch eating a Popsicle! Almost immediately after the spider bite, Miles begins to exhibit all of Spider-Man's powers, including some new ones like a venom-touch, and a chameleon like camouflage ability, and the only person who knows about Mile's newfound powers, is his best friend Ganke! Miles becomes serious about fighting crime, only after he witnesses Peter Parker's death, and learns that Peter became Spider-Man because of his Uncle Ben's words, "With great power, comes great responsibility." With the help of his friend Ganke, Spider-Woman, and S.H.E.I.L.D., Miles rises to become the all-new Ultimate Spider-Man!

Brian Michael Bendis has always been a great writer for Peter Parker, so there's no doubt that he'll be just as good for Miles Morales! Also featuring great artwork by Sarah Pichelli, this creative team opens up a new dawn for Ultimate Spider-Man!
